Archiving media art and succeeding it to the future

The exhibition “The Light and Movement House: 100 Stories Connecting Visual Devices in the 19th Century and Media Art,” presented by Toshio Iwai x the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, showcases restored works by Iwai created over 25 years ago, along with related archival documents. Hiroko Myokam, who has been involved in various projects related to the documentation and preservation of media art, also participated. Reflecting on her time as a student at IAMAS, Myokam discussed her journey from the early days of her involvement in artwork preservation and archival research to her current activities. She emphasized the significance of archiving media art.
