Kanayama Tomoko
Born in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture. Her main research themes are regional community, communication, the empowerment of citizens and media. Recently, she has been working on design to insert the design, art and manufacturing of IAMAS into regional society and thereby create new needs. She has published 12 books such as Community Media (Keio University Press), Media Strategy for Nonprofit Organization (GAKUBUNSHA), and Social Capital and citizenship in Net Era (Keio University Press) and Community Radio and Community Revtaization–Records of 962 days in the Great East Japan earthquake (Ohsumi shoten).
From the FY 2024 Professor Tomoko Kanayama will no longer take up the role of research advisor for Doctoral program students.
From the FY 2025 Professor Tomoko Kanayama will no longer take up the role of research advisor for Master's program students.
Professor Tomoko Kanayama will still take up the role of research advisor for students of the Master's short-term enrollment course for working adults.
