ライフ（生命／生活／生）の諸相を小林（生の哲学?人類学?研究）、金山（地域? コミュニケーション?調査）、カストロ（バイオ?倫理?表現）というそれぞれの枠組みから精査して、メディア表現研究における現状を明らかにしつつ、その可能性を討究する。 本学では岐阜おおがきビエンナーレにおいて、ライフを主題的に扱ったものを二度開催している（2013年の「LIFE to LIFE?生活から生命へ／生命から生活へ」及び2015年の 「日々の裂け目?CRACKS OF DAILY LIFE」）が、そこではライフ（生命／生活／生） を鍵語に、美術、パフォーマンス、思想、アーカイブ、ファッション、建築など領域を横断する世界が創造的かつ想像的にとりあげられていた。特に「環境と生命をめぐるより大きな問題群はきわめて21世紀的なテーマであり、継続的に考究すべきテーマであることは自明である。そこで、本プロジェクトでは、来たるべきビエンナーレも掌握しつつ、人間的な営為のみならずそうした営為が期待 される人間そのものへもアプローチすべく、それぞれの教員の専門性に依拠した研究、発表、制作などをおこない、生命論の豊かな地平を構築することをめざす。
This project examines various aspects of life (existence, lifestyle, living) using the frameworks of “philosophy, anthropology and research of life” (Kobayashi), “community, communication and survey” (Kanayama) and “biology, ethics and expression” (Castro). From there, we presented the current state and future possibilities of research on media expressions. This project has previously held two exhibits at the Gifu Ogaki Biennale, featuring the topic of life (“LIFE to LIFE: From Lifestyle to Existence / From Existence to Lifestyle” in 2013 and “CRACKS OF DAILY LIFE” in 2015). The exhibits featured life (existence, lifestyle, living) as a keyword and creatively and imaginatively highlighted a world that reaches across various fields, including art, performance, ideology, archive, fashion and architecture. In particular, the “group of issues greater than the environment and existence” is a very contemporary topic and one that clearly should continue to be studied. As such, this project will keep a grasp on the upcoming biennale and also approach research, not only from the perspective of human actions, but also from the perspective of the people themselves who are expected to engage in such actions. To do so, we will conduct research, make presentations and create works based on the expertise of each of our professors, aiming to construct a rich horizon of life theories.
