Understanding Our Lives through the Mask

《マスクにうつる私たち》は、コロナにより急激に変化していく社会のなかで、作者はマスク着用を強制されながら一人の人間として生活していく日常をマスクで「記録」と「記憶」2つの視点から記録した作品である。マスクを作品として鑑賞者に示し、複数のコロナ時代の記憶を表すと同時に、記憶を他者と共有し、他者とともにコロナ時代を想起する。

In Understanding Our Lives through the Mask the artist uses a mask to record her daily life as a human being forced to wear a mask in a society undergoing rapid changes due to COVID-19, from two perspectives: “Record” and “Memory.” The mask is presented to the viewer as an artwork, representing multiple memories of the COVID-19 era, while at the same time sharing the memories with others and recalling the COVID-19 era together with others.
